Zoom-Invariant Vision of Figural Shape: The Mathematics of Cores
نویسندگان
چکیده
Believing that figural zoom invariance and the cross-figural boundary linking implied by medial loci are important aspects of object shape, we present the mathematics of and algorithms for the extraction of medial loci directly from image intensities. The medial loci called cores are defined as generalized maxima in scale space of a form of medial information that is invariant to translation, rotation, and in particular, zoom. These loci are very insensitive to image disturbances, in strong contrast to previously available medial loci, as demonstrated in a companion paper. Core-related geometric properties and image object representations are laid out which, together with the aforementioned insensitivities, allow the core to be used effectively for a variety of image analysis objectives. 3 SYMBOLS σ ρ θ , , Greek letter, standing for a scalar variable. متن کاملZoom-Invariant Vision of Figural Shape: Effects on Cores of Image Disturbances
The medial loci called cores are generalized maxima in scale space of a form of medial information that is invariant to translation, rotation, and zoom. Pizer, et al. show that these invariances imply medial loci having the property that boundary sensing is made with apertures proportional to figural width [1]. This property of cores leads to an insensitivity to image disturbances, in strong co...
متن کاملTuning Shape Parameter of Radial Basis Functions in Zooming Images using Genetic Algorithm
Image zooming is one of the current issues of image processing where maintaining the quality and structure of the zoomed image is important. To zoom an image, it is necessary that the extra pixels be placed in the data of the image. Adding the data to the image must be consistent with the texture in the image and not to create artificial blocks. In this study, the required pixels are estimated ...
متن کاملNaturally combined shape-color moment invariants under affine transformations
We proposed a kind of naturally combined shape-color affine moment invariants (SCAMI), which consider both shape and color affine transformations simultaneously in one single system. In the real scene, color and shape deformations always exist in images simultaneously. Simple shape invariants or color invariants can not be qualified for this situation. The conventional method is just to make a ...
متن کاملNew Algorithm For Computing Secondary Invariants of Invariant Rings of Monomial Groups
In this paper, a new algorithm for computing secondary invariants of invariant rings of monomial groups is presented. The main idea is to compute simultaneously a truncated SAGBI-G basis and the standard invariants of the ideal generated by the set of primary invariants. The advantage of the presented algorithm lies in the fact that it is well-suited to complexity analysis and very easy to i...
